Demo and Premium Rental Bike

Real-world testing gives you real-world results with Trek's Speed Concept 9.5. Its lead just got a little larger with a US-made carbon frame that uses slippery Kammtail tubing. Those tubes are lighter, stiffer, and more aero than traditional designs, even in cross winds. On this rocket, nothing was overlooked: internal cable routing, hidden quick releases, and built-in brakes, computer sensors, even integrated storage, and computer mounts are all designed for aerodynamic speed. And, it's one of the most adjustable bikes available, so dial in the perfect tuck and push out every watt. Of course, the 9.5 is built for with top-end specs, with 11-speed Ultegra, carbon TT bars and frictionless Race Lite wheels.

We have limited sizes at each location, reservations are required.

Trek's Speed Concept takes revolutionary design paired with a groundbreaking aero shape to make the cleanest integration of brakes, cables, storage and electronics ever seen on a bicycle. It's the fastest way to the finish. (Click images to enlarge.)

Faster, lighter, more aero. The Speed Concept pulls out all the stops with unprecedented aero integration of cables, the revolutionary Speed Fin, and a 30% reduction in frontal area. And it gets even better: It's even lighter than before. Cross winds greatly affect the aerodynamics of a bike. Most TT bikes have low drag when the wind is straight on, but in the real world, it's almost always a cross wind. The Speed Concept's Kammtail shape maintains its full aero benefits at any yaw angle. The result? Your bike is faster in every situation. Carry all the gear you need during training and in races. The Speed Concept's Storage is so well intergrated into the frame that you and your bike are actually more aerodynamic and faster with it than without.

Even the quick-release skewers on the Speed Concept increase its speed. Trek integrates them into the shape of the bike for faster aerodynamics. Computer sensors create unwanted dirty air—but not if you build them seamlessly right into the frame. The Speed Concept is the first TT bike to integrate electronics into its aerodynamic shape. Out of sight, out of the wind. The Speed Concept's brakes are actually built into the frame and fork. This innovative setup results in less drag and cleaner lines—a faster, sleeker, better solution.

Move around to the front of Speed Concept and an amazing thing happens: it all but disappears. Presenting the least amount of surface area at the front of the bike is crucial. It sets the tone for how the rest of the bike will perform. (Click images to enlarge.)

The minimal frontal surface area, combined with its svelte shape, makes the Speed Concept slice through the wind effortlessly, so more of your power translates directly into speed. The handlebars are seamlessly integrated into the frame for the sleekest, lowest-drag profile possible. Look Ma, no cables. You can look for the brake and shift cables, but you won’t see them—and neither will the wind. Cables contribute a massive amount of drag, and routing them internally through the bars and frame eliminates that drag and maximizes speed.

A comfortable rider in an efficient position puts the most power to the pedals for the fastest rides. (Click images to enlarge.)

Five frame sizes with a sensible progression of stack and reach, standover, and head tube height make for an easy-to-select sizing system. The Speed Concept fits the smallest to the tallest athlete. Six stems and more than 14cm of height adjustment per size give the Speed Concept platform more adjustability than a standard road bike. Speed Concept pads and extensions offer a nearly infinite range of adjustability in any direction. Settle in for your best performance.
Trek's Speed Concept features a unique bottom bracket (image, top) that's 90mm wide (traditional ones are 68mm wide). This wide bottom bracket lets Trek build the frame with larger tubes for increased power transfer. Plus, the 90mm bottom bracket is machined so that the bearings can be placed directly into the frame (image) saving weight (due to fewer parts), ensuring additional pedaling efficiency and simplifying maintenance and repair.
